Accepting Brings an Anchor

First and foremost: may we be the first to wish you a (early) Merry Christmas! This year has brought so many wonderful changes, new challenges and so many learning opportunities for us. We know it’s also brought many of these things for you all as well. We just want to say what a joy it has been to walk with you all this year. We can’t wait for 2025! We have some amazing things planned!

But before we celebrate Christmas, this Sunday marks the fourth week of the advent season. In my family growing up, this Sunday was known as “acceptance.” The reason being that we now accept Christ into our lives just as Mary and Joseph, the shepherds and the wise men did.

Reflecting over this past year, every person on our small (but mighty!) team has accepted and made room for Christ’s call in some way. The James Method has grown and stretched in new ways. Our families have been blessed and challenged and gone through all kinds of changes. Our daily lives look a bit different. But our constant has been the acceptance of whatever Christ has planned for us. This steadiness has been our anchor through it all.

So whatever you’re celebrating or reflecting on this season, we’re just here to remind you one thing. From one sister in Christ to another, let’s remember Christ is the anchor and cornerstone of all the best things both in this season and all year long. May this season bring a more full acceptance of our wonderful Lord.
