Eternal Impact from Divine Fights

With summer upon us, I’m guessing half of us are feeling a new found sense of energy while the other half of us are feeling a little drained. Due to a move across the country and some other big changes, I have been in the drained camp. It isn't like me to feel tired since I’m a naturally energetic person, so I felt a bit down about it if I’m honest. But when I read this Scripture, I felt a stirring in my spirit. I felt compelled to choose this verse because God is capable of doing so much in our lives! Namely, we have the power of the Holy Spirit in us because of what Christ did for us on the cross.

This encouraged me in a specific way when I read it so I wanted share with you all and hope it encourages someone else!

What strikes me in this verse is the gift of this incredible resource God gives us. Paul wasn't aware of the powerful weapons the world would produce in our time, but God was. While the weapons of the world are dangerously impressive, we know that the God we serve is the God of far more power- armies of angels and pillars of fire for instance. So since He has given us weapons, it would stand to reason that they are more powerful than mere human weapons.

As I prayed through this verse, I remembered how God always accomplishes more in and through us than we can imagine. But we have to understand that he doesn't always do it in obvious or clear ways. His ways are above our ways, but he is trustworthy!

When we pray, show compassion, release forgiveness, give love or respond with patience, the divine power God gives us is released through us. While I can't say I understand how God works through us, I can say He does! These are the divine weapons we fight with, friends! In 10,000 years when we are in heaven, we will likely all have forgotten about the worldly struggles that seem so large now. But I think we will be celebrating with the Lord along with the angels the fruit of the times we chose to love, forgive and pray for others. Why? Because these divine weapons have power to make eternal changes.

So, friends, whether you find yourself rejuvenated by the last few weeks or not, I pray that we embrace God’s gifts this week. Let be bold in recognizing utilizing these powerful divine weapons, friends! And as always, if you're memorizing with us, happy memorizing!
